Reporting today that I’m not going to report about today, as
due to weather conditions, not a lot went on!
We got up at the usual time, which was pretty good, keeping in mind that
with the Sunday night football game not starting until sometime after 10 p.m.
Atlantic Daylight Time, it wasn’t over until somewhere around 1 a.m. I now completely understand the frustration
of Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg (from Mike
and Mike in the Morning on ESPN) –
they have to get up somewhere around 4 a.m. to get to ESPN as their show begins
at 6 a.m. EDT every week day morning … no wonder Greeny records
everything! And with tonight’s
double-header on ESPN, I think game
#2 STARTS at 11 p.m. Whew!
Not much to be found here at the hotel for breakfast; pretty
disappointing, actually, and then it started to rain.
Back to reversing falls...
But, first, we went back to the reversing rapids to see the
flow going in the other direction – from the sea to the bay. We must have been closer to high tide because
the rapid wasn’t as violent as the outflow yesterday. But it was still pretty impressive. Not a place to be caught in a canoe.
More than a bit rainy!
Close to the hotel we found Wok Box which is a “fresh, Asian” eatery; apparently a chain, but
the only other one R could find was over 200 miles away, so not sure. R had spring rolls and a teriyaki beef noodle
bowl, and I had potstickers and their Singapore noodles with beef. We were both
very happy with our choices. Then, back
to the hotel for a nap and rest until dinner.
Out again about 6:30 p.m. and at last it looks like the wet
weather has (hopefully!) passed us by.
We found a small local Italian restaurant named Romano’s; very good,
although their portion sizes were HUGE!
I ordered spaghetti with meatsauce and a salad, and R had spaghetti with
meatsauce and mushrooms and minestrone, and we now have more than enough for
breakfast tomorrow! Unfortunately, as we
had just thought we’d pick up a pizza, R didn’t take the camera, so no photos
of this very nice place!
City Market; very colorful and fun!
Loved the mobiles!
Back to the hotel about 8 p.m. just in time for Monday Night
Football! Whoo-hoo!
Back to the U.S. tomorrow, and an overnight in lovely
Boothbay Harbor, where we are hoping the weather will be warmer! So, so much for not posting for today!
